Recurring budgets and special options

For recurring payments (e.g. monthly rent), a “Repeat until” rule and an end date can be set.

Budgets can be increased or decreased automatically at regular intervals (e.g. raise advertising expenses by 3% every month).

Dynamic budgets offer additional options for flexible planning.

Helpful input shortcuts

Simple calculations can be used in the amount field by starting the entry with “=” (e.g. “=120000/12” to spread an annual sum across months).

Recurring budgets

Recurring budgets are suited for payments or income that occur regularly at fixed or flexible intervals, for example rent, salaries, insurance premiums or maintenance contracts.

Steps:

  1. In the Create budget dialog (side panel), enable the option “Repeats every”.

  2. Select the desired period: days, weeks, months, quarters or years.

  3. Optionally set rules: Repeat, Increase or Decrease.

  4. For Increase or Decrease, specify the interval at which the amount changes (e.g. an annual increase of 2% or an annual reduction of a loan installment).

After creation, recurring budgets can be adjusted if needed: the entire cycle can be changed via the “Repeat” icon, and individual dates can be moved by clicking the date field in the monthly calendar.
