How mapping works

After every sync, COMMITLY imports all transactions delivered by the bank and checks in this order:

  1. Rules exist for new transactions → automatic mapping

  2. If no rules exist for transactions, the AI checks whether these or similar transactions already exist → a suggestion is created and must be confirmed

  3. If neither rules nor past experience are available → manual mapping is required

The following functions are available for mapping:

  • Create rules
For recurring and known transactions, rules can be created that handle the mapping automatically in the future.

  • Map several transactions to one category at once
Filters can be used to find identical transactions and assign them to a category together. The selection is confirmed with OK.

  • Map several transactions to different categories at once
Select different transactions, choose the matching category for each one and confirm with MAP SELECTED.

  • Use suggestions
COMMITLY learns along and suggests categories. Using the PREDICTED filter, they can be reviewed, adjusted if needed and accepted by confirming with MAP TO PREDICTED.
