The due date of open items must not be changed, since it may be needed for accounting purposes to calculate interest.
COMMITLY takes this into account. There are three dates for open items in COMMITLY:
Invoice date (from integration or upload)
Due date (from integration or upload)
Expected date (set in COMMITLY)
The “Expected” date determines whether an item is included in the forecast.
While the due date can be in the past, the “Expected” date must always be at least today.
Therefore, if the due date is in the past, the “Expected” date is set to today by default.
For existing customers (before February 2024), this option can be activated under SETTINGS > Company.
The activation runs in the background and may take a little while, depending on the size of the open items list.
ATTENTION: This sets all open items with a due date in the past to today’s date. Please check the open items list after activation.
This ensures that open items with a due date in the past (prior periods) are still included in the projection of the rolling forecast.
