Load DATEV open items

DATEV integration, DATEV connection

Summary:

  • Activate the optimized semi-automatic DATEV upload

  • After activation, the workflow is: Export the open items from DATEV as CSV and import this file via the DATEV CSV Uploader.

  • In COMMITLY, "MATCHING" searches - automatically or manually - for inflows or outflows that fit the open items. These can then be marked as paid.

  • Because the open items are marked as paid, the Forecast changes accordingly.

By activating the DATEV Uploader in COMMITLY, open items can be transferred into the liquidity planning in an optimized, semi-automatic way. Adjusting the file or mapping the fields from DATEV is not needed.

After the integration with DATEV, outstanding payments are shown in a clear list. Overdue open items are detected automatically and marked in red.

The status of the open items is also shown in color and can be handled flexibly.

What do I need to do in DATEV?

In DATEV, click the Applications menu and select the menu item Auswertungen Rechnungswesen (accounting reports).

In the menu item Auswertungen Rechnungswesen, select the report OPOS - Offene Posten Liste (open items list)

On the screen AUSWERTUNGEN online - Offene Posten Liste, the displayed open items can now be exported by clicking the printer icon and selecting Export: xls. Do this once for receivables and once for payables.

ATTENTION / NOTE: Unfortunately, DATEV exports a very old Excel file format. Open the file (ignore the warnings about the outdated format) and save it again in the standard xlsx format.

What do I need to do in COMMITLY?

  • Click "ADD-ONS".

  • In the menu OPEN ITEMS > Open Items List, open items from DATEV can now be imported by clicking "Import DATEV".

With the optimized import, the file exported from DATEV can be imported into COMMITLY as is, without further editing steps:

Known issue with the DATEV export

A known issue with the DATEV export is that the exported xls is faulty.

The solution:

  • Open the DATEV export once,

  • accept the error messages from Excel and then

  • simply save it as xlsx.

After that, the import works.
