The Forecast in COMMITLY, i.e. the rolling liquidity planning based on the Actuals of the previous period, is the default view in Planning.
In addition to the Forecast, further Plans and Scenarios can be created to compare different developments.
You can read more about the Forecast here. → separate article
Terminology in COMMITLY:
Static Plan: remains unchanged after creation. Ideal for budgets or for documenting decisions.
Dynamic Plan (Scenario): is based on the Forecast and adjusts automatically when the Forecast changes. Perfect for “what-if” scenarios.
How to create a Plan:
In the header, click the green plus icon (+).
The side panel “Create Plans” opens.
Enter the following details:
Base: Forecast, Scenario, Actuals, existing Plan or blank template.
Name: We recommend a clear naming convention, e.g. “2025_v01”.
Period: one year (e.g. 2025) or several years (e.g. 2025–2027).
With these details, you can flexibly set up your own Plans and run through different Scenarios.
