The empty template is a completely free plan without defaults. Ideal for companies without prior-year data or when a plan is to be created completely independently of the forecast and actuals.
Goal: Create a plan in COMMITLY during the year without any existing values being taken over (bottom-up approach).
Steps:
Select “Empty template” as the base
A completely empty plan without values is created
Enter the desired budgets manually or alternatively import budgets (Google Sheets/MS Excel: Import plan)
Example: A startup is founded in May. Since there is no historical data, an empty template is used. From June, the first revenue is planned, from July marketing costs, and from August personnel costs.
Good for: new companies, free scenario planning, import of prepared budgets.
