Enable the MCP Server in COMMITLY
Navigate to COMMITLY > Add-ons > COMMITLY MCP Server and click the Enable button.
The application navigates to the Integration page. Copy the Endpoint URL. It looks like: https://app.commitly.com/mcp/YourCompanyName
Add the Connector in Claude
Open Claude in a web browser and go to Settings > Connectors > Add > Add custom connector.
Populate the fields:
Name: any free-text name, for example "YourCompanyName MCP"
Remote MCP server URL: paste the Endpoint URL copied in step 1
Click Add.
Authorize
Claude redirects you to the COMMITLY authorization page. Populate your login and password, and press the GRANT ACCESS button
Select the required company from the list and press the CONNECT button.
After successful authorization, Claude returns to the Connectors page. The newly connected MCP appears in the list with its available features.
Start a new chat and ask Claude to use COMMITLY tool
"List the available COMMITLY tools."
"Show the available MCP capabilities."
Important note — Tools don't appear after connecting (Claude Desktop)
After enabling the connector, Claude Desktop may not yet display the COMMITLY tools even though the connection is established. Reload Claude Desktop (Cmd/Ctrl+R, or restart the app) — the tools will then be available. In the web version (claude.ai), the tools are available immediately without a reload. This case is not an auth problem: tool calls here don't return a 401, the list is simply empty.
