Paying in COMMITLY
After successful approval, the green “Pay” button appears at the top right. Clicking it opens a new window where you can select the country, IBAN, and other payment details.
Direct payment
Payments can be initiated directly from COMMITLY.
The “Pay” button becomes active automatically once all requirements are met, such as a correctly connected bank account with payment authorization and a fully completed approval process.
Cash discount in the “To be paid” widget
If payment terms are stored for business partners, COMMITLY automatically takes possible early-payment discounts into account in payment planning.
In the “To be paid” widget, the total of all currently available cash discount amounts is shown separately. This lets you see at a glance how much you can save by paying open invoices on time.
The calculation is made automatically based on the stored cash discount tiers and the open invoices. If invoices change or cash discount deadlines expire, the display is updated accordingly.
The widget helps you identify possible savings early and include them in your payment planning.
Exporting invoice data as SEPA XML for online banking
SEPA XML payment export
In addition to exporting the document images, COMMITLY lets you generate an XML file in SEPA format. This file can be uploaded directly to your online banking system to prepare payments in bulk, without manual retyping.
This option is particularly suitable for companies within the EU whose bank supports SEPA payments.
Hinweis: Rechnungen müssen zuvor genehmigt worden sein, damit ein SEPA XML payment export möglich ist.
Go to “Bills”.
If needed, use the filter function (e.g., by invoice date) to narrow down the invoices you want.
Select the invoices using the checkbox at the top left.
Click “Generate XML”.
COMMITLY creates a standardized XML file with the payment information of the selected invoices.
This feature is especially helpful if you want to pay several bills in one step.
Possible error messages:
Payment is not possible right now
Cause:
The IBAN or the account holder name is not stored correctly or completely.
The bank details can also be adjusted centrally in the partner management:
Go to Bills > Partners
Search for the relevant partner
Click the pencil icon on the far right
Add or correct the IBAN and account holder name there
This ensures that future invoices are automatically assigned correctly and can be paid.
