Which documents and information are required to open an account?

COMMITLY offers business accounts only, for companies, self-employed individuals and freelancers.

For your account to be opened, your company's identity must be verified by our partner Swan as part of the legal KYC requirement (Know Your Customer).

During onboarding, you are guided through this process step by step.

Have the following documents ready so the account opening can be completed quickly:

  1. Valid ID document of all legal representatives
     (passport or national ID card)

  2. Proof of company registration, e.g.:

    • Commercial register extract

    • Business registration (for sole proprietorships)

  3. Articles of association or partnership agreement

(to confirm the company structure and authority to represent)

  4. Proof of company address

(e.g. a recent electricity, rent or phone bill)

  5. Declaration of beneficial owners (UBO declaration)

(listing all persons who hold or control more than 25% of the company)

  6. Tax identification number or company ID

(e.g. VAT ID, commercial register number, tax number)

  7. Bank proof for the initial transfer (for self-employed individuals or freelancers)

Tip: Check beforehand that all documents are legible, current and available as PDF.

Incomplete documents can delay the KYC process.

Depending on the legal form or country, Swan may request additional documents, such as:
