With the release of the "offline account" feature, which lets you add bank accounts manually, there is also a trick to keep an already connected account up to date if it could not be synced for a longer time.
Unfortunately, this workaround is necessary because German and Austrian banks did not provide stable PSD2 interfaces until March 2020.
Situation:
You have a connected account that has not been syncing for a while
The tips in this article did not work: https://help.commitly.com/en/articles/3784867
Your account has the status: DISCONNECTED.
COMMITLY Support has confirmed problems on the bank side
The workaround is a "little trick"
Create a CSV from your online banking and note the current account balance
Create a manual (offline) account in COMMITLY
Account balance of this account = (account balance of the "real" account in COMMITLY) minus (current account balance at the bank)
Load the transactions via CSV
Result:
The 2 accounts together add up to the current account balance
The transactions of both accounts together correspond to the transactions of the real account
Is the normal sync working again?
Check whether the manually uploaded transactions have also been loaded via the bank interface.
This has created duplicates.
Map the newly loaded transactions.
Delete the offline account --> the duplicates disappear.

We are aware that this is not ideal. But as long as the bank interfaces do not work, it is at least a workaround for urgent cases. Thank you for your understanding!
